Do you pay attention to the regional origin of the food you buy?
Are you interested in where the ingredients of a Saxon "Eierschecke" come from?
Then take part in our survey and investigate the range of regional products on offer in restaurants, butchers, bakeries and at weekly markets in the Dresden region. In doing so, you will help us to gather valuable information about regional products in restaurants and retail outlets. With knowledge about ways to increase the potential of regional food in retail and gastronomy, supply chains and marketing concepts can be improved. Regional producers will then have an easier time getting their products into their local shops and restaurants.
WHY WE DO THIS CITIZEN SCIENCE SURVEY
Demand drives supply - As a consumer, you determine where and how our food is produced. Become an interviewer and help shape our research on regional food and value creation in Dresden and the surrounding districts of Bautzen, Meißen and Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. The data you collect will provide valuable information on the current state of regional food supply in the Dresden region.
HOW AND WHEN YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
The survey runs from 21st of June until 30th of September 2021. Ask employees and operators of bakeries, butchers and restaurants as well as vendors at weekly markets. You can choose the survey location according to your daily shopping habits.

Before and after your next shopping trip or visit to a restaurant, call up the questionnaire via smartphone and answer the questions. The average duration of the survey is about 7 minutes. The questionnaire consists of four parts:
Part 1: General information about the store/restaurant (2 questions).
Part 2: These questions ask you directly about the location (4 questions)
Part 3: Your own assessment is asked (2 questions)
Part 4: How did you feel about the survey? (6 questions)
The questionnaire is anonymous.
You are welcome to answer the questionnaire several times for different shopping locations.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DATA COLLECTED?
The questionnaires will be analysed by us after the end of the survey. The results will be published here on the project website. Alternatively, you can sign up for our newsletter on the last page of the questionnaire and/or leave your email. Then you can be sure to stay up to date on the results of the survey and all further developments in the OLGA project.
